Out for a run - nothing else. I don't typically do the 'beach' thing. Oh, sure, I look, I admire, but I spend much more of my time running. Thomas used to come with me from time-to-time, but I haven't seen him in a while.
There's really no reason for him to be this damn tall. Shoving my hands in my pockets, I say casually, "I had an unusual sort of visitor to my office the other day."
I can't help but grin. "Had a strange-looking teenager stop by with a tale of a large, strange-smelling, weird-walking stranger near her house. Mentioned the fact that I had a 'magician' on call."
"Nope. She just came in, lounged on the chair in my office and said what she had to. When I asked her for more information, she split pretty fast."
I stick the pad back in my pocket. "I would think she's just a crank, except that cranks usually just leave anonymous calls. And at this point, most of my leads are so cold, I'll follow up on anything."
"Well...I'll let you know what I come up with, then."
I'm definitely suspicious, but I need to figure out what the heck is going on around here. Every trail has gone cold, and I don't like the thought of a killer wandering around my town.
"Good. Don't make any deals with any of the fae. It's not like borrowing your neighbor's lawnmower and forgetting to return it. They're pretty strict about you keeping up your end of the bargain."
