[OOC: Cameron's Ponderings]
Allison, wearing the wrinkled blue button-down shirt Greg had left at her place, is inspecting pieces of fruit in the produce section of a grocery store near her hotel. She needs to restock her little fridge for a couple more days.
She shakes her arm to shift the sleeve off her hand so she can see the apple she's picked up - green and shiny and perfect. It goes into her basket and the sleeve falls to her wrist again. The shirt is far too large on her, but it smells good and it's Greg's. She's always 'borrowed' her boyfriend's clothes and while she would never refer to Greg as her 'boyfriend', if the term fits when asked about the shirt, she'll use it. And, she's sure he would grimace at her if he saw her in his shirt, but she has her own thoughts on how to counter that too.
On the house-hunting front, she's closer to having her own place than she thought she'd be at the beginning of the week. Over the last several weeks, she's seen several houses and even narrowed her choices down to two. The appointment she has later today with her real estate agent should help her make a final decision.
She's close enough to having her own home that she's starting to get nervous. Nervous about mortgage payments and home maintenance and all the little things that go into owning a home. But, on the other hand, it will be hers and she'll be able to paint the walls any color she wants and hang as many things on the walls as she'd like and she won't have to abide by some lazy landlord's silly rules.
She wants a house and she's going to have a house... and she doesn't mean Greg, though she may have him too.

Re: Someone has a birthday - |
First, because she doesn't see it as 'settling'. She's not pushing anything more than what they've been doing, because she knows he'll shut down on her - and that's the last thing she wants.
Second, she still, maybe, wants to 'fix' him, but he's much more of a challenge than some of the others she's dated before, and she likes that. It intrigues her, excites her and makes her work that much harder.
She thinks he's sexy anyway, what she wants today is just for him to accept that she thinks that and not ask her a million questions about 'why'. "Because," is her simple answer. More because she's not entirely sure what he's asking 'why' to - why is he whatever he wants to be today?; why is he sexy today?; why does she think he's sexy? - if she could figure out which he's questioning, she could figure out how to answer.
If she answers all of them - she'll just be babbling and that's not really the 'present' she was going for.

Re: Someone has a birthday - |
"I am not too sensitive. A little upset because you're being so much of a stubborn ass, but not 'sensitive'. I worked pretty hard on this. Figuring out what to do and, more importantly, what not to do. It wasn't easy. We are dealing with you here. But it was fun. I don't mind hard work and I don't mind doing things for people. What I do mind are those people trying to fuck it up when they are the ones benefiting. So," she waves a hand at him, "if you'd rather not benefit, fine." That same hand gets waved at the door. "I'm not keeping you here."
She's almost seething. And she can't determine if she's angry at him or angry because her plans have been un-planned. At the moment, she doesn't really care that he's pulled back and is confused about why this suddenly went 'bad'. She spent more time than she should have organizing this in her head, so even his one-off, completely innocent comment was enough to tweak a nerve. It's just Greg's bad luck that his comment hit her at just the wrong moment.
[ooc: obviously, she went for the angry rant]
